In all math coaching at Cardinal Education, we strive to build confidence and achieve true mastery through repetition and application. Since math concepts build on one another, a solid math foundation is critical to success, and many students find themselves floundering in their high school math classes because their algebra basics simply aren’t there.
Once students have built up their fundamental skills, they will not only be able to understand the current material, but also know how to apply new and old skills in their math toolbox to new concepts and types of problems.
Math’s greatest unsolved problem continues to be, “When am I ever going to use this?”, and while not every student will use the Pythagorean Theorem or L’Hôpital’s rule in their everyday lives as adults, the study of mathematics develops lifelong skills: logic, creative problem-solving, and, above all, persistence.
